Open Arms Spiritual Haven

Visitors to the Haven on Sunday the 22nd August were treated to a real surprise in the form of a visit from top TV medium NICKY ALAN. Our scheduled medium, Linda Wyatt, was unfortunately taken ill shortly before we opened, so Jay Gage and Ryan Saunders were standing in with  an evening of clairvoyance. Just after the service started, Nicky arrived, and joined them on the stage, to give a fantastic demonstration of mediumship for our visitors.

Both Jay and Ryan were trained by Nicky to work on platform, so they joined her in energy-packed "double links" where both mediums connected to the same spirit person to deliver a message together. This is a complicated, and rarely seen practice, and our visitors found it really exciting.

As a result of the evening, Nicky, Jay and Ryan will be working together to present a special Christmas charity show. Details will be posted soon, and all visitors buying tickets for Nicky's show for the Haven on the 10th of October will receive a discount on tickets for this special event.

The Haven welcomed a very special guest on the 16th of July, in the form of top international medium, and star of Sky Real Live's "Angels" programme, Nicky

 Alan.

Nicky is well known within the spiritualist movement, and has recently signed to work with famous TV and stage medium Colin Fry on a national tour, so for her to offer to work at the Haven was a real boost for the centre, and also for their chosen charity for the evening, South Essex Rape and Incest Crisis Centre.

As an ex-police officer, Nicky has a particular interest in the work of the charity, and was happy to join Haven organiser, Jay Gage, in presenting a cheque for 400.00 towards their work.

The hall was filled to the rafters with fans eager to see Nicky work, and with over 100 visitors, she had her work cut out as message after message came flooding through and was delivered in Nicky's own inimitable style.Nicky works witha refreshing blend of honestly, humour, and love, and gave astonishingly accurate messages, even including the name of the road the person lived on in one instance !

Demand for tickets to see Nicky was so high, that organisers were still turning people away just hours before the event was due to start, and as a result, Nicky has kindly offered to do another show for the Haven on the 10th of October as a special benefit for SERICC. 

To meet demand, the Haven has hired Thurrock Rugby Club's 200 seater hall, and tickets are on sale now at £15 each. Tickets can be booked by calling 07908 632092, or by sending a cheque, made out to Open Arms Spiritual Haven to the address on our main page, or by paypal to witchezcat@hotmail.com.

As you may have heard, after our fundraising special on Sunday the 21st of Feb, the Haven was broken into, and our raffle prizes,stereo, stock from Jay's stall, and other items were stolen, and substantial damage was caused to our brand new shed. Ironically that evening we had just given away all our profit - a total of a thousand pounds, to our two charities, MIND and SERICC. As we are completely non profit making, this has caused us considerable worry, and we have appealed to our friends to donate where they can to help us raise funds again with a special raffle.

Christina Green has kindly donated a private reading, tickets for which will be on sale from Sunday the 7th of March at the Haven. If you would like tickets, please contact me asap and I will organise them for you - they are £3 for a strip of five. Please help us to recoup our costs and keep the Haven in a position to help our charities !

We are proud to announce that on the 17th of January Steve Madle became the first Haven - trained SPHA healer to qualify with the association.

Steve joined us after our association with Thurrock MIND - he is a staff member there - and quickly became a very important part of the Haven. He is a very loved team member, with his infectious personality and natural warmth, and was an obvious choice for us to train as a healer.

We are very proud of Steve's achievement, and hope you will join us in congratulating him on his hard work ! Well done Steve and to Ryan who trained him !

What an amazing night at the Haven on the 20th of December for our Xmas special!

Despite the snow, over 60 people braved the roads to come along and celebrate with us. They were greeted at the door with a glass of champagne, and received a guardian angel pin and christmas card as well as other specially created gifts and treats, whilst enjoying a fantastic buffet lovingly created by our amazing Tea Team.

There were plenty of stalls , healers and readers on hand to keep them occupied until our guest medium, Christina Green, took the stage for an amazing display of mediumship. Christina is a great favourite at the Haven, and once again demonstrated why we feel she represents the best of modern mediumship !

All visitors were given a candle to light in memory of their friends and loved ones in Spirit, and the twinkling flames made a lovely backdrop to Christina's messages from the other side at this special time.

More food, drink, Christmas cheer and the lovely warm welcome that is the Haven made our visitor's trek into the snow very worthwhile, until the festivities closed just before 10pm. We re-open again on the 10th of January with the excellent John Chafer, and would like to wish you all a fantastic Christmas, and a peaceful and happy New Year

                                                         

I am delighted to announce that the Open Arms Spiritual Haven has been accepted as an Approved Healing Centre for the Spiritual Pathway Healing Association (SPHA).
 
We have hoped for this recognition for some time now, and it is a tribute to the hard work and diligence of our SPHA Trainers Ryan Saunders and Colin West that we have been officially accepted as an SPHA Centre.
 
As you all know, Colin and Ryan work extremely hard every week at the Haven running our healing section, and have trained our newest recruit Steve, whom we hope to see qualify with us very soon.
 
I would like to congratulate and thank them both for their hard work and dedication - without their efforts The Haven simply would not be the same !

We were lucky enough recently to be visited by the team from "Your Thurrock" website. They made a short film. in two parts, about the Haven, and our work. Our medium that week was the irrepressible Poppy, and  we feel that it gives a good idea of a typical evening with us. If you are thinking about coming along, why not have a sneak preview ?

In true Haven style, we celebrated Halloween this year - with visitors and staff alike entering into the Spirit of things by dressing up and joining in a night of fun ! Our medium was the lovely Linda Wyatt, who proved that on this night the veil between the two worlds is particularly thin and delivered some superb clairvoyancy.                                                           A warm welcome on the door !

The Open Arms Spiritual Haven in Grays hosted a very special charity evening on Sunday the 25th of October, when they donated a thousand pounds to two local mental health and rape crisis charities.
The donation was made possible through the generosity of celebrity medium Mandy Masters, who provided an evening of clairvoyance and trance mediumship to a packed hall of over 100 people.


Mandy, who lives in Chadwell St Mary, was born without arms as a result of the Thalidomide scandal, and overcame her disability to build a successful life and career as one of the country’s most loved mediums. She has a monthly column in a national magazine, and regularly holds sell-out shows all over the UK.

Mandy's work amazed Haven visitors, with her accuracy, and the amount of detail she provided, with many messages containing information about the recipient's activities that day - proving that Spirit had really been around them before they came to the event. Names, dates, and situations were all uncannily accurate, and every recipient of a message was given a crystal angel by Mandy to remember it by.

Mandy also gave away several private readings to lucky recipients, and raffled further readings during the interval to raise money for her own charity, Mandy's Box, which donates funds to local people in need.

The second half of the evening involved Mandy's own unique trance work. Five audience members were selected to join her on stage, and Mandy's Spirit talkers communicated information to them about their loved ones in Spirit and their lives and concerns here. The audience were amazed at the trance process, which was very different to their previous experiences, and left them in no doubt that Mandy really was relaying trance mediumship.

The Open Arms Haven is a modern spiritual and alternative therapy centre, which has been open for just over 18 months. Since opening, they have supported Thurrock MIND and South Essex Rape and Incest Crisis Centre, both of whom are based in Grays, and this latest donation brings their total given to charity in that short time to just over 3k.

They provide evenings of mediumship every Sunday evening, in Belmont Hall, Parker Road, Grays. and pride themselves on being a modern and progressive centre, attracting a large number of younger people to the movement.
